The Nigerian Law Society (NLS) has on Wednesday, congratulated muslim lawyers and all faithful, on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, praying that the celebration brings lasting peace and joy.
In a statement by NLS President, Chief Mela Nunghe (SAN), the society reminded the legal community that true sacrifice attracts divine grace.
“This celebration of Prophet Ibrahim (AS)’s sacrifice reminds us that true sacrifice brings divine grace”.
“Lawyers embody this daily, sacrificing time, comfort, and safety to uphold justice with the ram’s strength and resilience against injustice and corruption.
“We stand for the rule of law, integrity, and justice as a right for all.
“As we share the ram with family, neighbours, and the less privileged, let us embrace giving, sacrifice for the nation, obedience to the law, and compassion for the vulnerable,” he said.
In the same vein, a former publicity secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Dr. Rapulu Nduka, also rejoiced with muslim lawyers and faithful on the sacred festival of sacrifice.
While wishing all faithful a peaceful celebration, he urged that the spirit of Eid continue to strengthen the bond of love, peace, and unity among all.
“On this blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha, I warmly felicitate all our Muslim brothers and sisters as they celebrate this sacred festival of sacrifice, faith, and obedience to Allah.’
“May the spirit of Eid al-Adha strengthen the bonds of unity, peace, love, and compassion among us all,” he said.
Also, a former chairman of the NBA Young Lawyers Forum (NBA-YLF) Asaba branch, Mr Aki Anthony, also congratulated muslim lawyers on the Eid celebration.

He urged that love, unity, and faith continue to guide all towards greater service to humanity.
“As we celebrate Eid al-Adha, may the spirit of sacrifice, love, unity, and faith continue to guide us all towards peace and greater service to humanity.
“Wishing all Muslim faithful a joyful and blessed celebration, and may Allah accept your sacrifices and answer your prayers abundantly,” he said.
Also, a lawyer of the NBA Benin Branch, Mr Oaikhena Osagie, prayed that the sacrifice of the celebration bears lasting fruits of joy, peace and stability in our communities.
He urged muslim lawyers and all faithful, to deeply reflect on the reason for the seasonn, and join in creating lasting positive impact that will drive society in the right direction.
