The Nigeria Immigration Service has suspended indefinitely the operations of Online Integrated Solution , the company managing Nigeria’s Visa Application Centres in the United States.
In a statement issued Thursday in Abuja by the Service Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, the NIS said the suspension took effect from July 1, 2026 and remains in force “until further notice.”
The move affects all Nigerians and other prospective travelers residing in the US who require visas to enter Nigeria.
–New Application Process–
With the closure of OIS centres, all visa applicants in the US must now submit applications directly at:
1. The Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C.
2. The Consulates General of Nigeria in New York
3. The Consulates General of Nigeria in Atlanta
Akinlabi clarified that the directive applies only to physical visa submissions at Nigerian diplomatic missions in the US.
—What Is Not Affected—
The NIS stressed that Nigeria’s electronic visa [e-Visa] system remains fully operational.
“Applicants can continue to apply for e-Visas through the official online portal,” Akinlabi said.
He added that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure seamless submission, processing and issuance of visas despite the suspension.

The Immigration spokesman urged applicants to monitor official communication channels of the NIS and Nigerian Missions in the US for updates on procedures.

He also appealed for understanding and cooperation from applicants during the transition period, while reiterating NIS’ commitment to “efficient service delivery.”
No reason was given for the suspension of OIS Services.
