NiMet warns against more flash flooding in next 96 hours

Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has advised the public to prepare for more flash flooding as a result of heavy rainfall expected on Wednesday 12th and Thursday, 13th of October 2022.

The Agency in its impact-based forecast for Tuesday 11th, Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th October, 2022 said heavy rainfall was anticipated over parts of Taraba, Ebonyi, Benue and Cross Rivers State.

It added that coastal parts of Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Delta and Bayelsa State were other places that should also expect heavy rainfall in the next 96 hours.

The Agency said moderate to heavy rainfall was expected over parts of Kaduna, Niger, the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Adamawa, Plateau, Edo, Anambra, Kwara, Ekiti, Kogi, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Oyo and Osun State.

NiMet said low to moderate rainfall and light or no rains were expected over the rest of the country.
