NiMet alerts public to rise in temperature

As Nigerians prepare to celebrate St Valentine’s day, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency has given forecast on a rise in temperature across some states in Nigeria.

According to the forecast, most areas in the Northern part of the country would have temperature greater than 35°C and less than 40°C, and greater than 40°C.

In statement, General Manager, Public Relations, Muntari Yusuf Ibrahim said parts of Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, FCT, Imo, Plateau, Adamawa, Taraba and Benue were expected to experience temperatures greater than 40°C.

It added that most parts of the north (except Kano) were expected to experience temperatures greater than 35°C and less than 40°C.

The entire inland of the south and most parts of the coastal states (except Lagos), he said, were expected to be in the same temperature range.
