The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) says Nigeria consumed an average of 56.74 million litres of petrol daily in October 2025, totalling 661.5 million litres between October 2024 and October 2025.
According to its latest fact sheet released Friday, 27.6 million litres of October’s PMS supply were imported, while 17.08 million litres came from local refineries.
Overall, 44.7 million litres were supplied to the market daily during the month.
The report showed consumption peaked in October, followed by November 2024 (56 million litres) and April 2025 (55.2 million litres).
Dangote Refinery produced 18.03 million litres daily—below its planned 35 million-litre capacity—while NNPC’s Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries recorded no PMS output due to shutdowns, maintenance, or ongoing rehabilitation.

Nigerians also consumed 17.13 million litres of diesel, 2.61 million litres of aviation fuel, and 6,095 MT of LPG daily in October.
The authority said the verified data highlights improvements in domestic refining, reduced imports, better sector efficiency, and a national refining utilisation rate of 61.58%.
