Nigerian Police arrest suspect in grisly murder of FRSC Officer and her daughter

A senior female Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Mrs. Lasisi Funmilayo, and her young daughter, Sewa, were brutally murdered by a male friend and two herbalists in Osun State, Nigeria.

The suspects, led by Victor Benjamin Fajemirokun, a married man, allegedly killed Funmilayo for ritual purposes, dismembering her body into over a dozen pieces.

The daughter was later taken into a bush, killed, and mutilated.

The police investigation began when Fajemirokun faked his own kidnapping, abandoning his car on the Ikire expressway with the keys still in the ignition.

His wife reported him missing, and the police launched a search.

Through phone tracking, the police identified a herbalist in Osun State as a suspect and sent an undercover agent to his location.

Although the herbalist initially escaped, he was later arrested in Ijebu-Ijesha, Osun State, after a manhunt.

The herbalist confessed to the crime, implicating Fajemirokun and another herbalist in Ekiti State.

The police arrested the second herbalist, and both suspects led the police to the remains of the little girl.

Fajemirokun was later arrested in Ghana and extradited to Nigeria.

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the Ghana Police Service for their professionalism and cooperation in tracking down the suspect.

He assured the public that the investigation would be thorough and professional, and the suspect would be arraigned once the probe was concluded.
