Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has confirmed that 42 students and children were abducted when suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters invaded Primary and Junior Government Day Secondary School in Mussa, Askira-Uba Local Government Area of Borno State last Friday.
Ndume, who represents Borno South, said four students were taken from the secondary school, 28 from the primary section, and 10 from residential houses in the community, based on information from school authorities.
He described the attack as “baric and disheartening,” saying it had left many parents and guardians in distress. The incident occurred during early morning classes, he added.
The senator called on security agencies, particularly troops of the Joint Task Force North East ‘Operation HADIN KAI’, to intensify efforts to rescue the victims.
Ndume also noted that the attack came two days after separate assaults on Bambatsu and Ngadarma communities in Chibok, where several people were reportedly killed. He extended condolences to families affected by the recent attacks in Southern Borno.
