Former Southampton and Royal Antwerp forward Victor Udoh has died in Abuja at age 21, with reports describing the circumstances as suspicious.
Udoh was found dead in the Nigerian capital, according to _Mirror UK_. The exact cause of death has not been confirmed by authorities.
The striker had recently returned to Nigeria after his contract with Czech club Dynamo České Budějovice ended. He joined the club in 2025 following his departure from Southampton.
Udoh signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Southampton in 2025 but did not make a senior appearance during his seven months at the club. He left by mutual consent to seek regular playing time.
Before moving to England, Udoh played for Belgian side Royal Antwerp. He progressed through the club’s ranks after joining from Abuja-based Hypebuzz, scoring 12 goals in 21 reserve games and making 28 first-team appearances.
No further details have been released by authorities at the time of reporting.
