Nigerian Army thwarts Keffi road kidnapping, rescues victim, arrests suspect

The Nigerian Army’s prompt response to a distress call resulted in the thwarting of a kidnapping attempt on the Nasarawa-Keffi Road, in close proximity to the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa State, culminating in the successful rescue of the victim.

According to a statement released by Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, the operation unfolded on Thursday, April 4, 2024, as part of a routine patrol on the Nasarawa-Keffi road within the Nassarawa Local Government Area of Nassarawa State.

Criminals launched an assault on an unsuspecting civilian in an endeavor to abduct them.

However, vigilant members of the community swiftly alerted the troops, prompting their timely intervention.

The swift action of the troops prevented the abduction and led to the rescue of the civilian.

Furthermore, one of the kidnappers, who sustained injuries during a shootout with the troops, was apprehended.

Nwachukwu further informed that both the injured suspect and the rescued victim, who sustained minor injuries during the failed kidnapping, were expeditiously evacuated to a medical facility for necessary medical attention.
