The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Tuesday, announced 1,354 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.
The figure, the highest daily infections yet, displaced Tuesday’s record of 1,204 cases considered the highest in the last 24 hours.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the fresh cases with-712, FCT-145, Plateau-117, Kwara-81, Kaduna-54, Sokoto-39, Oyo-38, Rivers-37, Gombe-21, Enugu-20, Akwa Ibom-16, Bauchi-14, Delta-14, Ebonyi-13, Anambra-9, Taraba-8, Edo-8, Kano-3, Osun-2, Ekiti-2, Ogun-1.
The agency said one death occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,318 on Monday to 1,319 on Tuesday.
The data from the agency disclosed that 697 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 76,396 while 14,990 cases were still active in the country.
NCDC explained that the discharges on Tuesday included 324 community recoveries in Lagos State and 137 community recoveries in FCT managed in line with guidelines.
