The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday, assured members of its readiness to work with its candidates across the state with a view to sweeping all available seats in the forthcoming general elections.
The PDP made the assurance in a new year message to members and supporters of the party in the state, signed by the state caretaker committee chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle on Tuesday.
Dr Akindele commended PDP faithful in Osun State for their unflinching loyalty to the party, reward of which he noted, was the taking over of the reins of power in the state by Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke as the executive governor of the state last year.
The PDP helmsman also assured members that the PDP would continue to work with the people in what he described as participatory democracy, where citizens irrespective of class and status were guaranteed unfettered access to working cubicles of the party for productive engagements.
“In this new year, our great party will work more with the youths and womenfolk as bedrock of an egalitarian society. Our mothers and young soldiers have proven their worth with the level of patriotism and energy invested in attainment of the current feat of the party and it is therefore trite that such essential class of the society remain on board our programs,” Dr Akindele stated.
Reacting to regrouping of the defeated opposition in the state, the PDP Chairman described the APC as elements of the biblical maxim of the “Egyptians we see today that we will see no more.
“Our people must be wary of entrapping campaigns of those who have shown unmitigated hatred for humanity beyond all doubts. Apc as a party should be alienated completely from the nation’s political space for Nigerians to avoid unnecessary asphyxiation.
“The presidential pairings in the Apc is already a grave disrespect to heterozygous complexity of our dear nation and such signal of arrogance can only cascade down the spines of such a clueless political party to further plunge the nation into massive chaos.
“Osun State has set the pace in taking them out and we must consolidate. We have set the tone and it has to resonate further by beating them roundly in the coming elections.
“The message must be total without any compromise. With that, we would have made it loud and clear, that our resolve to vote and build ring of support round our dear Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke” was solid, nonnegotiable and genuine”, the chairman concluded.
