The Nigerian Legion on Saturday graduated 220 new commissionaires after completing Course 16 at its Suleja training ground, in a move to bolster community service and security support.
The Passing Out Parade was confirmed in a statement to journalists in Abuja by the Legion’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Vet A.A. Soaga-Adetoro.
Addressing the graduates, National Chairman Grace Morenike Henry urged discipline, integrity, and professionalism. She warned of “zero tolerance for misconduct,” saying any act that brings the Council into disrepute could lead to dismissal and prosecution.
Henry also cautioned the new commissionaires against criminal activity and clarified that their paramilitary training “does not equate to military status,” stressing the Corps’ distinct role. She assured members of ongoing efforts to improve welfare and opportunities within the Legion.

Earlier, FCT Commandant of the Corps of Commissionaires, Captain N.H. Bako, praised recent reforms under Henry’s leadership as “impactful to the growth and efficiency of the Corps.” He charged the graduates to apply the training and discipline acquired, saying those values are critical to their duties.
The ceremony underscores the Legion’s push for professionalism, discipline, and service, Soaga-Adetoro added.
