NCDC tests 7,153 Nigerians for COVID-19

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Friday, disclosed the number of Nigerians tested for COVID-19.

NCDC disclosed that no fewer than 7, 153 samples have been tested for COVID-19.

In a tweet, the agency stated that it’s working hard to increase the number of samples tested in Lagos State and Abuja.

According to NCDC: “As at 6:00 pm 17th April 2020, 7153 samples have been tested for #COVID19 in Nigeria

“We are working very hard to increase the number of samples tested, including community surveillance in the FCT and Lagos.”

Recall that the Director General of NCDC Chikwe Ihwkweazu had on Thursday disclosed that about 7,000 Nigerians have been tested for COVID-19.

Ihekweazu had made the disclosure during the daily briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 in Abuja.
