President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a vibrant entrance at the Eyo Festival held at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos on Saturday, marking a high point in the city’s cultural celebrations.

The President’s appearance drew attention from residents, visitors and cultural enthusiasts who filled the venue to witness the festival — returning after its last edition in 2017.

Dressed in the traditional all-white theme of the festival, Tinubu completed his look with a distinctive black Akete hat and a black-and-white cloth draped over his shoulder.

Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat.

The Eyo Festival — also known as the Adamu Orisha Play — is famed for its white-clad masquerades, rhythmic chants and energetic dances, rooted in Yoruba tradition and culture.

The colourful celebrations brought together Lagos residents and tourists, showcasing Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and adding to the year-end festivities in the commercial city.
