The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Saturday, announced 576 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the fresh cases with-277, FCT-90, Oyo-51, Nasarawa-49, Sokoto-23, Anambra-14, Bauchi-11, Imo-11, Kano-11, Edo-10, Plateau-10, Ogun-9, Osun-5, Jigawa-3 and Rivers-2.
The agency said 8 deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,294 on Friday to1,302 on Saturday.
The data from the agency disclosed that 416 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 74,789 while 13,072 cases were still active in the country.
NCDC explained that the discharges on Saturday included 287 community recoveries in Lagos State and 60 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
