NCC unveils new Logo

The Nigerian Copyright Commission, NCC, has unveiled its new corporate logo approved for its use in 2020.

NCC’s new logo consists of the green-white-green slanting blocks (representing book spines) with the coat of arms and the letters “NCC” embossed, depicting the national colours, the flow of ideas and the dynamic nature of the copyright sector.

According to a statement signed by Mrs Ijeoma Egburike, Deputy Director, Public Affairs for the Director-General, under the blocks was the tagline “Protecting Creativity” showing the primary goal of the Commission.

“The 36 red spikes forming a hexagonal police star represents the 36 States of the Federation and the 6 major categories of copyright works (literary works, musical works, artistic works, films, sound recordings and broadcasts) as well as the enforcement. mandate of the Commission against piracy other copyright abuse depicted by the colour red and black,” she said.

The Nigerian Copyright Commission was established under the Copyright Act as a body corporate with a common seal.

Its mandate covers all copyright matters including the promotion, administration, regulation, enforcement and prosecution of copyright offences.
