The management of the National Assembly [NASS] has sacked the liaison office of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited [NNPCL] in the complex of the Federal Legislature. It has consequently shut the office space previously  allocated to the national oil company.

The quit notice dated June 16, 2025, was signed by Bala Ibrahim, Director of Management Services, in the office of the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly on behalf of the Clerk to the National Assembly.

Although the letter, which served as quit notice, said the property was needed by the NASS management, which necessitated the quit notice to recover property, THE CONCLAVE reports that the decision might have been due to some “unholy, unwholesome activities being perpetrated in the office.”

A source close to the development simply said: “it has to do with integrity issues.”

The notice addressed to the Liaison Officer reads: “I am directed to notify you that the office space you are occupying at the Senate wing, National Assembly Complex, otherwise described as NNPC Liaison Office is required for official use by the National Assembly management.

“Consequently, you are requested to vacate the office in seven days commencing from Tuesday, June 17 [2025].

“We urge you to hand over the key and any NASS property in your custody to the undersigned.

“Please, note that this letter supersedes any other letter previously issued by us on the same subject matter.

“Failure to comply may compel us to put measures in place to recover the office without any further reference to you.

“Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated.”
