The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for prioritising the education sector in the State.
Mr Abel Bala, Chairman, house committee on education, who gave the commendation on Monday in Lafia, appreciated the governor for training youths in the state on different skills acquisition.
Bala said this when the Boards and Managements of some state-owned educational institutions appeared before the committee on the performance of their 2026 budgets.
The institutions are the Nasarawa State Vocational and Relevant Technology Board (NSVRTB), Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technology Institute (WCAIVTI), and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
The lawmaker said that Sule deserved commendation for massively investing in the education sector.
“I want to thank His Excellency, for prioritising the education sector in the state, ” he said.
Bala said that the committee would do everything humanly possible to ensure that the standard of education in the state improves.
The lawmaker said that the oversight function was to ensure that the right things were done by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the State.
The committee chairman appealed to Sule to give more support to the boards and institutes to enable them succeed.
Also speaking, Mr Kasimu Hamidu, the Executive Secretary, NSVRTB; and Dr Daniel Asele, the Executive Secretary, WCAIVTI; appreciated the committee for it’s support and called for sustenance.
They also appreciated Sule for prioritising their activities and called for more.
Hamicu appealed for more releases for the rehabilitation and repairs of office buildings among others.
On his part, Asele appealed for an increase in the institute’s overhead cost.
