In celebration of the 2025 International Day of Education, the Nigerian Air Force Officers Wives Association (NAFOWA) has extended its support to underprivileged students at Junior Secondary School, Asokoro, Abuja, by donating essential educational materials and financial aid.
The initiative, aimed at promoting access to quality education, saw the distribution of school bags, writing materials, textbooks, and a cheque to cover school fees for select students.
This gesture is part of NAFOWA’s ongoing efforts to support education and empower young learners, particularly those facing financial difficulties.
Speaking at the event, NAFOWA President, Arch. Mrs. Rakiya Abubakar, underscored the transformative power of education in shaping lives and creating opportunities.

She encouraged the students to remain committed to their studies, emphasizing that education equips them with the necessary skills to overcome challenges and achieve success.
“As an organization, we recognize the importance of education in national development. While our primary focus is the welfare of Air Force families, we also extend our support to neighboring communities to encourage learning and academic excellence,” she said.
The principal of JSS Asokoro, Malam Jafaru Madaki, expressed deep appreciation for NAFOWA’s generous support, noting that the intervention would ease the burden on students from low-income backgrounds. He highlighted the impact such initiatives have in boosting students’ morale and academic performance.
Parents and beneficiaries of the initiative also shared their gratitude, describing the donation as a timely intervention that would enhance the students’ learning experience.
NAFOWA remains committed to promoting education as a tool for empowerment and national development, reaffirming its dedication to initiatives that provide students with the resources needed to excel in their studies.
