NAFDAC raises the alarm on fake COVID-19 vaccines in Nigeria

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has raised the alarm and alerted Nigerians to a fake COVID-19 vaccines in circulation in Nigeria.

Director-General of the Agency, Prof Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, warned Nigerians in a virtual press conference on Friday not to use fake vaccines in circulation.

The NAFDAC boss said that the agency had yet to approve any vaccines or receive any application from COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers for validation in respect of any vaccines.

According to her: “COVID-19 vaccines are new, and the side effects or adverse events must be well monitored; therefore, if NAFDAC does not approve, the public should not use.”
