NAF helicopter gunships destroy Boko Haram gun trucks, logistics vehicles in Borno
The Air Task Force of “Operation LAFIYA DOLE” has destroyed three gun trucks and logistics vehicles belonging to Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs)
in Mainok in Borno State.
Confirming the report, Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Major General John Enenche said the air operation was executed on 12 January 2021, sequel to intelligence reports indicating that the BHTs, in several gun trucks, were traversing the Jakana-Mainok axis of the State.
Enenche said the Air Task Force scrambled NAF helicopter gunships to engage the convoy of BHT gun trucks and logistics vehicles.
He said the helicopters delivered accurate hits in the target area, resulting in the destruction of three of the BHT vehicles, some of which were seen engulfed in flames.
Enenche said several of the terrorists were also eliminated in the process.
He added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria would not relent until all enemies of the nation were neutralised and normalcy was restored to all troubled zones of the country.
