In a coordinated mission to support power restoration in Kaduna and other northwestern states, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted a series of targeted airstrikes on November 1.
According to Air Commodore Olusola F. Akinboyewa, Director of Public Relations and Information at the NAF Headquarters, the operation focused on terrorist positions in the Alawa Forest, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, aiming to secure critical power infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted restoration progress.
Following multiple Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, NAF identified concentrations of terrorist fighters planning to disrupt ongoing power efforts.
Acting on this intelligence, NAF launched precise airstrikes, neutralizing several fighters and their logistics.
In addition to these interdictions, NAF has increased armed reconnaissance along key power routes from Shiroro Lake to Damba, maintaining control over the airspace to prevent potential threats.
This mission highlights NAF’s ongoing commitment to protecting vital infrastructure in collaboration with other security agencies, ensuring swift restoration of essential services across Kaduna and neighbouring states.
