My representation will be meaningful, says Prince Oyewusi, PDP House of Assembly’s candidate for Ife North

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ife North State Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Prince Akinyode Abidemi Oyewusi, has promised to offer good representation and legislations if given the mandate in the forthcoming election.

Prince Oyewusi made the promise in Ipetumodu, the headquarters of Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State, during an interaction with journalists on Thursday.

According to him, voting for PDP in Ife North State constituency “will certainly bring tremendous change and development to the people, as we will empower the teeming
unemployed youths, attract support to the farmers, secure infrastructural development, though there are limitations to the number of projects to be nominated by a legislator but I will ensure the most relevant are given topmost attention among others.

“As a lawmaker, I will look at where there is a lacuna in the system and also see that I speak the minds of the the electorates. I have been an advocate of the people and speak for the people irrespective of their political parties, putting the facts on the table I will address the issue, my antecedents are there for anyone to verify, I will do much more better if given the mandate.

“When it comes to youth empowerment, education is always key, provision of technical and vocational education for Ife north youths. Provision of special scholarship programmes to help indigent students in primary and secondary schools in Ife North. Urgent intervention in the state of state-owned school buildings in Ife North. Engagement of volunteers (teachers) in all public secondary schools in Ife North to help reduce the rates of student failure in the SSCE examination in Ife North. Annual recognition and reward for outstanding students in Ife North both private and state-owned schools.

“Others include, annual UTME/SSCE lessons for Ife North students. Prompt disbursement of students’ bursaries Symbiotic relationship with student bodies in Ife North as well as adequate support for farmers and traders.

“I am happy to inform you that, Ife North is an agrarian society where the majority of our population lives and works on the land and produces its food. Making grants available for business development. Prompt facilitation of modern implements and farming tools such as harrows, hand-operated fertilizer drills, combined harvesters, tractors, and hand-operated planters. Seamless availability of lands for agricultural practices Ife North. Secured environment for business activities for traders among others.

“Similarly on the healthcare, there is going to be complete provision of quarterly medical outreach for the aged, youths, and children. Immediate purchase of drug(s) to state-owned growth as well as sports organisation of football for competition.”

Prince Oyewusi however enjoined the residents of his constituency to demonstrate their unalloyed support to him as he would not let them down in all ramifications, saying the PDP is the only political party that can liberate the entire masses from the current hardship.
