MNJTF troops intercept Boko Haram remnants, on outskirts of Lake Chad, seize arms

In a triumphant operation, troops from Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Sector 1 stationed in Cameroon have effectively thwarted the efforts of remaining Boko Haram terrorists who were scavenging for supplies in Hile Halifa, located on the outskirts of Lake Chad in the Far North region of Cameroon.

This achievement marks yet another substantial setback for the persistent terrorist group, which poses an ongoing threat to the stability and peace of the region.

During this engagement, the valorous troops managed to eliminate five terrorists, dealing a significant blow to Boko Haram’s operational capabilities.

Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Military Public Information Officer based in N’djamena, emphasized that this successful endeavor holds immense importance as it hampers the terrorist group’s aggressive stance and contributes significantly to the overarching objective of ensuring tranquility, well-being, and security in the region.

The audacious operation also led to the recovery of a considerable cache of weapons and ammunition from the incapacitated insurgents.

Notable recoveries include two AK-47 rifles, a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) tube, and a substantial quantity of 7.62-millimeter ammunition.

Abdullahi went on to highlight that this triumph serves as a resounding blow to the terrorist organization’s offensive strategies, further bolstering the broader mission to reestablish harmony and safeguard the affected areas.
