A former governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, said he would not respond to the various allegations of non-performance levelled against him by Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, the incumbent governor, until the governorship campaigns begin.

Mimiko stated this on Sunday in Ondo town when he hosted the Deputy Governor, Mr Agboola Ajayi, at his residence.

Mr Ajayi is the flagbearer of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the October 10 gubernatorial elections, after defecting, first from APC to PDP, and then from PDP to ZLP.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Akeredolu last week lamented the avalanche of abandoned projects by the Mimiko administration, describing them as a disgrace to governance and a disservice to the people. Mr Akeredolu spoke while inaugurating four projects completed by his administration at the Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa.

Mr Mimiko, however, said the time to compare his government with that of his successor had not come. He said any party or government that would not meet the needs of the masses at the point of their yearnings was not progressive.
