Military probe destruction of empty houses, Church building during joint clearance operation against bandits in Kaduna villages


The Armed Forces of Nigeria in liaison with the Kaduna State Government have set up a panel to investigate the partial damaged of 3 empty houses and a Church building at Kabarasha Village in Gwagwada District of Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna State

The incident occurred as troops of Operations THUNDER STRIKE and WHIRL PUNCH with air support from the Air Component of Operation GAMA AIKI, cleared bandits’ hideouts around Mashigi Galbi, Damba Community and Kabarasha villages.

Confirming, the report, Coordinator Defence Media Operations Defence Headquarters Major General John Enenche said there was no civilian casualty during the joint clearance operation.

He said the Armed Forces of Nigeria regrets the unfortunate incident and the affected buildings have been identified with a view to providing adequate compensation to the owners.

The Coordinator Defence Media Operations calm has been restored to the area and people, who initially fled the area due to fear of bandits’ reprisal attack, have all returned to the Community

He said the High Command of the Armed Forces of Nigeria reassure the general public that it will continue to work assiduously to restore peace and security to the North West and thanks the general public for their support and cooperation, while encouraging them to continue to provide credible information that will facilitate the operations of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
