Marwa vows justice after mob attack on NDLEA officers in Dawaki

NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa has promised to hunt down those who attacked two of his officers during a raid in Dawaki, Abuja.

Marwa visited Ayegh Zachariah and Shehu Ibrahim at the National Hospital on Monday.

Both were injured on May 15, 2026, while raiding a notorious drug joint in the area.

He sympathised with the officers and assured them of full medical care until they recover.

He also condemned the attack and said it would not go unpunished.

“The Agency will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that those responsible for this cowardly attack are arrested and brought to justice.

“An attack on our officers is an attack on the state,” Marwa said.

The NDLEA boss praised the officers for their bravery and professionalism during the high-risk operation.

He said their sacrifice is vital to Nigeria’s fight against drug trafficking and abuse.

Marwa presented the officers with Letters of Commendation and support packages to aid their recovery.

He also thanked NDLEA medical staff and doctors at the National Hospital for their quick response and care.

He reiterated that the agency will keep dismantling drug cartels and cleaning up communities, despite resistance from criminal groups.
