A 28-year-old man, Kabiru Sani, was arraigned on Thursday, in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stabbing his friend with a knife.
Sani of Kabala Doki, Kaduna, was charged on a one-count charge of causing grievous hurt.
The prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that the matter was reported on Oct. 19 at the Gabasawa Police Station, by Auwal Garba of the same address with the defendant.
According to Leo, on the same date at about 6 pm, the defendant and the complainant who are friends went out for relaxation, and in the process, they had some misunderstanding.
“The defendant violently used a knife and stabbed the complainant on his head and shoulder where he sustained serious injuries,’’he said.
The prosecutor told the court that the complainant was taken to the hospital where he received medical treatment.
He said that during police investigations, the convict did not give a satisfactory account for his action.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 246 of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted bail to Sani in the sum of N100, 000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Nov. 23 hearing.
