A 32-year-old man, Musa Sulaimon, on Tuesday appeared before an Ota Magistrates ‘Court in Ogun, for allegedly stealing a cell phone and an Automated Teller Machine(ATM) card to withdraw N800,000.

Sulaimon, whose address was not provided, is facing a one-count charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 2, at The Bells area, Ota.

Adaraloye said that the defendant stole a cell phone and an ATM card, then withdrew the sum of N800,000 belonging to the complainant, Chika Onwe.

He said that the offence contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code Vol.1, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N80,000 with one surety.

Fadairo adjourned the case until May 19, for further hearing.
