One of the highly respected traditional rulers in Ile-Ife, Osun State, the Lowa Adimula of Ife, Oba Abraham Adekola Adeyeye has called the attention of Governor Ademola Adeleke to the deplorable condition of the only road that links Ile-Ife with Osogbo the state capital.
Oba Adeyeye who decried the deplorable condition of the access road to the ancient community appealed to Governor Adeleke to expedite action in repairing the road from Sekona to Ile-Ife, saying it has become a death trap for motorists plying the road.
The Lowa Adimula who made this call while answering questions from newsmen during the celebration of this year “Olojo Festival” said the current condition of the link road to Ile-Ife had caused much suffering to the people.
The Lowa Adimula who commended the efforts of Governor Adeleke in transforming the state since he assumed the office, appealed to the state government to arrest the erosion menace in the area which was gradually cutting off the community from other parts of the state.
He said the situation had affected the socio-economic lives of the people in which many of whom are farmers.
“The few vehicles that manage to enter the community, charge exorbitant fares” he said.
Oba Adeyeye further condemned the people who fought themselves during the annual festival last Saturday.
The Lowa Adimula warned them to desist from such while they should not extend the kind of criminality to the ancient community.
