As this year’s edition of Oduduwa Festival begins on Monday in Ile-Ife, Osun State, the Lowa Adimula of Ile-Ife, Oba Abraham Adekola Adeyeye, said the Yoruba race is uniquely created by God.

In his congratulatory message to Ooni of Ife , Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11 and residents of the community on the celebration of the annual Oduduwa Festival, on Sunday, Adeyeye described Ooni Ogunwusi as the only traditional ruler with the seal of Oduduwa, adding that he holds the foremost African traditional ruler in a very high esteem as his father.

According to Oba Adeyeye: “As the Arole Oduduwa, all descendants of Oduduwa must bow in respect for the highly respected throne because he is the father of all.”

While acknowledging the Ooni of Ife for his relentless efforts towards bringing together the descendants of Oduduwa, the Lowa Adimula expressed his joy over what he described an improved level of unity in Yorubaland.

“I am happy to say that efforts of the Ooni Ogunwusi in bringing the entire Yoruba race together cannot be over emphasised.

“I am calling on other prominent traditional rulers in the Yoruba land to demonstrate their unalloyed support to him in achieving this.

“I respect him, Ooni Ogunwusi so much because he is my father and I will continue to do so”, he said.

The Lowa Adimula, however, enjoined residents of the ancient Ile-Ife community to joined hands with the Ooni Ogunwusi in celebrating the annual festival.
