The remains of Salome Adaidu, a young woman allegedly murdered by gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi, have been buried.
Ajayi, after reportedly killing her, was apprehended in Nasarawa State with her severed head hidden in a polythene bag.
The incident took place on Sunday in Agwan Sarki, Orozo, a community near the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Authorities were alerted to the development. Security agents swooped on the uncompleted building where Ajayi was arrested.
Ajayi, who is also known for promoting himself as a motivational speaker on TikTok, admitted to the crime during his interrogation.
In a viral video, he shared he had claimed that he had been in a one-year relationship with Adaidu before the tragic event.
He claimed that a heated argument escalated into violence, and Adaidu allegedly attempted to stab him with a knife, prompting him to kill her in self defence.
Ajayi, who released his album God of the Earth in 2020, further disclosed that Adaidu’s dismembered body was in his home.
On Monday evening, Adaidu’s dismembered remains were laid to rest in a ceremony, with a viral video showing mourners performing the burial as the sounds of grief echoed in the background.
