Kwankwaso Reads the Stars, Warns Kano Women:
Rabiu Kwankwaso

Former Kano Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has added a new line to his CV this week: Water Engineer, Politician, and — apparently — Relationship Astrologer.

In a video now doing the rounds on WhatsApp groups and Twitter timelines, Kwankwaso issued a public service announcement that left Kano raising both eyebrows and wrapper hems.

● The Prophecy

Kwankwaso warned women to say “thanks, but no thanks”_ if they’re offered government-branded wrappers carrying Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s image.

Why? Because according to his “personal research combining water engineering and astrology,” wearing the fabric could trigger “instability in their homes.”

Translation: Your husband might start acting up, the pot of soup might burn, and your marriage could enter airplane mode.

“I will be surprised to see any woman wear such wrappers,” he said, sounding like a man who just checked both the weather forecast and your horoscope. He added that the initiative could spark widespread marital problems if nobody stops it.

● Priorities, Please

Kwankwaso also questioned the timing, arguing that government should focus on poverty and welfare, not dropping designer agbada for aunties.

He even tagged Kano Hisbah boss Aminu Daurawa, asking authorities to intervene before wrappers start breaking homes.

● The Internet Reacts:
Team Science vs Team Stars

Online, reactions split faster than a cheap wrapper seam.

1. Team Kwankwaso: “He’s right. Government should fix stomachs, not wardrobes.”

2. Team Science: “Sir, with all due respect, is this peer-reviewed astrology? Where is the journal?”

3. Team Confused: “So if I wear it to the market, will my husband stop eating my tuwo?”

As of press time, the Kano State Government had not responded. The wrappers — and the marriages — hang in the balance.

● Weekend Takeaway

Only in Nigerian politics can water engineering, astrology, and marital counseling appear in the same policy brief. Kwankwaso has officially made fashion advice a governance issue.

Ladies of Kano, the ball is in your court. Or rather, the wrapper is in the bag. To wear or not to wear? Choose wisely. Your horoscope — and possibly your husband — is watching.

_Happy weekend. May your wrappers be controversy-free and your jollof rice never burn._
