African Democratic Congress chieftain Kayode Arewa Sanni has declared for the Ekiti State House of Assembly, drawing support from party leaders and grassroots stakeholders ahead of the primary election.
Sanni, a long-time ADC member, announced his bid amid calls for community-driven representation at the state legislature. Supporters described the move as a response to demands for more accessible and accountable leadership.
His campaign received a boost during a visit to the Elekole-in-Council, where he and other ADC members met ADC governorship aspirant Ambassador Dare Bejide and deputy campaign chief Ayodeji Babatola.
The meeting signalled growing alignment within the party ahead of the primaries, stakeholders said.
Community leaders at the engagement praised Sanni’s track record, citing his accessibility and focus on people-oriented policies. They said his candidacy reflects a shift toward more responsive representation.
Speaking at the event, Sanni pledged to prioritize youth empowerment, infrastructure, and legislative transparency if elected.
“Ekiti needs voices that understand the streets and the chambers,” Sanni said. “My focus is to make laws that work for our people.”

Political observers say Bejide’s public appearance with Sanni strengthens his standing in the race. The visible synergy among ADC aspirants, they note, could reshape party dynamics in Ekiti.
With primaries approaching, Sanni’s camp is touting his grassroots appeal and endorsements as key advantages in a crowded field.
