The Publisher of Katsina Times, Malam Muhammad Danjuma Katsina, has praised Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State for his administration’s commitment to respecting the freedom and rights of journalists and media professionals.
In an end-of-year appreciation note, Katsina commended the governor for creating an enabling environment for media professionals to operate without fear of intimidation or harassment.
According to him, no journalist or social media influencer in the state was arrested, detained, or harassed in the course of their duty in 2025.
Katsina described Governor Radda as a genuine democrat who valued the watchdog role of the media.
He noted that the governor’s frequent media appearances demonstrated his commitment to transparency and accountability.
The publisher urged media rights groups to conduct a thorough survey on press freedom in Nigeria and recognise the best-performing governors.
He believed Governor Radda’s respect for journalists’ rights and his message was deserving of recognition
