The Katsina State Government says Nura Garwa, a former Senior Special Assistant on Community Development now under investigation for alleged involvement in a kidnap syndicate, was suspended from office before he ran for the State House of Assembly.
Garwa is among suspects paraded by the Katsina State Police Command over the kidnapping of an eight-year-old boy at Sardauna Estate in Katsina metropolis.
Commissioner for Information and Culture, Salisu Zango, said Sunday that Garwa was suspended earlier for allegedly diverting empowerment materials meant for communities in Batsari LGA under the state’s Community Development Programme.
“The suspected mastermind of a kidnapping syndicate involving the kidnapping of an 8-year-old boy at Sardauna Estate has been suspended as SSA on Community Development to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda before his intention to contest for the Batsari seat in the Katsina State House of Assembly,” Zango said.
