It is reality time. The battle for supreme control of the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State has been intensely fought- overwhelming won and lost.
While the National Vice Chairman, South-South of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih’s nainstream Edo PDP are in celebratory mood over the endorsement of its Senatorial candidates by the National Working Committee of the party for transmission to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, it is a sad moment for the State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, whose “candidates” lost out in the final consideration of actions legally and validly taken.
The Orbih group has enjoyed a series of favourable court orders, rulings and judgments to trump Obaseki’s group and render its alternate primary elections (parallel primary elections) invalid within the philosophical dictum of ex nihilo nihil fit (out of nothing, nothing is produced).
By this action of recognising the candidates of the Orbih’s mainstream PDP in Edo, the group remains the authentic group for the publics to enter into official transactions with.
The list has those states where senatorial primary elections are conclusive on it.
