A massive anti-fuel hike protest has reportedly erupted in Benin City.
A crowd of Nigerians have taken to the streets to express frustration over the growing harsh living condition across the country.
Concerned citizens and activists are driving the demonstration to advert attention to the growing hardship occasioned by a number of policies, including removal of subsidy, resulting in hike in pump price of fuel.
The protesters wielded placards bearing messages such as “Say no to continuous hike in fuel price,” “FG, allow the poor breath,” and “Fuel price is choking us.”
The images of the rally posted on Twitter by Ijeoma Osamor of AIT quickly went viral, attracting solidarity from people across the nation.
