The transformation of the facility was undertaken under the leadership of Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, the 34th President and first female head of the NSE, underscoring her administration’s unwavering commitment to modernisation, professionalism, and service excellence.

Delivering his keynote address, Hon. Goronyo described the upgraded facility as more than a facelift—calling it “a symbol of progress and institutional renewal” in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“I am deeply honoured to have been invited to perform the official commissioning of the remodelled Front Office of the Nigerian Society of Engineers Secretariat Complex today. It has been a privilege to witness the dedication and effort that has gone into transforming this space into such an aesthetically pleasing area with a more welcoming ambience,” be said.

He emphasised that the initiative was in perfect alignment with the administration’s strategic goals.

He said: “Such initiatives are vital as we collectively strive to ‘Enhance Infrastructure and Transportation as Enablers of Growth,’ a key priority under the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Commending the leadership of the NSE, Hon. Goronyo lauded the visionary efforts of the Council, describing the outcome as a demonstration of professionalism, foresight, and civic responsibility.

“The successful completion of these remodelling works truly reflects the Society’s dedication to improving its facilities and enhancing the experience for its members and visitors. This proactive approach by professional bodies contributes significantly to the national objective of fostering sustainable development and creating an enabling environment for all sectors of our economy,” he stated.

He further reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with professional institutions such as the NSE in nation-building efforts.

“The Federal Ministry of Works is always pleased to partner with professional bodies like the NSE, whose work is crucial to our nation’s development. Your contributions to massive infrastructure projects, and indeed, to every facet of our nation’s progress, are indispensable,” Hon. Goronyo noted.

“May this new space foster even greater collaboration, stimulate local economic activity, and contribute to the job creation efforts championed by the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

In her remarks, Engr. Margaret Oguntala, FNSE, expressed deep gratitude to the Minister for honouring the invitation while reiterating the NSE’s unwavering commitment to advancing Nigeria’s development through engineering innovation, institutional reform, and strategic partnerships.

The newly remodelled front office now features a modern reception area, upgraded workstations for staff, and digitized systems to facilitate seamless administrative operations and member engagement. It is part of a broader transformation agenda to reposition the NSE as a 21st-century professional body rooted in efficiency, innovation, and national relevance.

The event ended on a high note, with a tour of the upgraded space and a reaffirmation of the synergy between government and professional institutions in achieving national development goals.
