Jigawa Govt. approves N19.6bn for 560 mass housing project

Jigawa Government has approved N19.6 billion for the construction of 560 mass housing across nine local government areas.

The nine local government areas are — Babura, Birnin Kudu, Dutse, Gumel, Hadejia, Kafin Hausa, Kazaure, Maigatari and Ringim.

The Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa, made this known on Tuesday while briefing newsmen after the state Executive Council meeting in Dutse.

According to Musa, the project aligns with Gov. Umar Namadi’s vision for inclusive development and sustainable urban growth.

He said the council approved the contract for 560 units of three-bedroom detached and two-bedroom semi-detached Mass Housing Estate Phase II, with wall fencing.

The commissioner added that “this demonstrates the administration’s commitment to addressing the housing needs of the people of Jigawa.

“This commitment is not merely a policy declaration, but aims to improve living conditions and boost the local economy through construction-related employment, fostering a more resilient and equitable Jigawa.”
