Former NPC Federal Commissioner Prince Diran Iyantan has congratulated Senator-Elect Prof. Francis Adedayo Faduyile, OON, on his “decisive victory” in Saturday’s Ondo South Senatorial bye-election.

In a statement Sunday, Iyantan called the result a “clear affirmation” of Ondo South’s trust in Faduyile’s leadership, competence and integrity.

—“Victory for Purposeful Representation”—

“The people of Ondo South are genuinely delighted with the emergence of Professor Faduyile as Senator-Elect. His victory is not only a personal achievement but a victory for all those who desire purposeful and quality representation,” Iyantan said.

The former Ondo Commissioner praised Faduyile’s record as a distinguished medical doctor, academic and ex-President of the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA.

“At the highest level of medical leadership, Professor Faduyile demonstrated uncommon courage, compassion and administrative competence. These qualities inspire confidence that Ondo South will have a worthy voice at the Senate,” he said.

—Pledge from Ikaleland—

Iyantan, a proud son of Ikaleland, assured the Senator-Elect of “unwavering support” and pledged to offer assistance “as a fellow son of Ikaleland and elder statesman”.

He said expectations are high and urged Faduyile to justify the mandate through developmental projects and courageous advocacy for the district.

—The charge—

“Leadership is not defined by years in office but by the difference made in people’s lives. Even the shortest period can become an eternity in history when dedicated to selfless service,” Iyantan stated.

Faduyile won the weekend bye-election to fill the vacant Ondo South seat. He is expected to be sworn into the Senate in the coming weeks.
