As this year Eid-el-Kabir festival holds on Friday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun State Command, on Wednesday, assured Muslim faithful of adequate security arrangements during and after the celebration.
This assurance was contained in a press statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Adigun Daniel on behalf of the Commandant and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital.
The statement said, the Corps had deployed over One Thousand (1000) personnel in manning key areas of economic importance but not limited to critical national infrastructure.
The State Commandant, Mr. Oguntuase Adeyinka Kingsley (CC), according to the statement, enjoined Muslim faithful to observe the social distancing rule and COVID-19 guidelines in their various homes and public gatherings to curb the pandemic in the State and the Nation at large.
Kingsley advised further that Muslims should adhere to government’s directive that prayers should be observed in their various mosques, saying, personnel would be going round to ensure strict compliance.
The Commandant also emphasised that strange movements, suspicious lurking around should be promptly reported to the Corps or other security agencies for immediate action.
The divisional offices at the LGAs and LCDAs, according to him, were available to entertain any complaint, the statement added.
The Commandant assured members of the public of safety of lives and property.
He maintained that everybody should be his brother’s keeper and reduce the frequency of travels into the State during this period.
