The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Zonal CID, DC. Banji Ogunrinde has charged the newly constituted executive committee of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Zone 11 Command to be focused, determined and give maximum support to police so that there will be a well secured society.
DC Ogunrinde in his welcome address said collaborating with the community relations committee by the police at this point in time cannot be over emphasised for adequate information towards protection of lives and property.
According to the police boss, “we need unalloyed support of residents in our various communities to ensure complete security by supplying necessary information on any criminality.
“Residents of every communities must not hide information for us, they should not harbour hoodlum but they should demonstrate their supports to us as and when due for the hoodlums to stay away from us.
“I want to use this medium to congratulates the newly inaugurated PCRC’s executive saying God will be with them in discharging their duties.”
While speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, CP Olawale Olokode congratulated the new PCRC’s executive while admonishing them to continue to support the police.
CP Olokode also charged the Zone 11 Command officers and men to keep exhibiting good character and virtues that will build people’s confidence in the force while appreciating the efforts of the DCP Olusegun Omoosanyin, DC SCID, DCP Hope Okafor, DCP DFA, DCP Charles Dike, DC B ‘OP’S for extending the invitation to him for him to be part of the programme.
“You don’t earn friendship through advertisement, it is earned through positive conduct, character and interactions with the general public,” said CP Olokode.
Certificate of office was later presented to the new PCRC’s executive by the Commission of Police.
While speaking, the PCRC National Vice President, Alhaji Magaji Olaniyan, encouraged the PCRC Zone 11 to wake up and perform her constitutional role by supporting the Nigeria Police to provide a secured society to Nigerians.
He then thanked the IGP, CP and all other officers who have made PCRC in South West Nigeria proud.
The newly constituted executive committee publicity secretary, Mr Akin Ayide gave vote of thanks and promised that the new executive will not disappoint the police.
Present at the occasion were Zone 11 DC DFA, DCP Illiyasu Kwarbai, the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Zone 11 Command Osogbo, SP Ayeni Benjamin and other invited guests.
