The Imo State Police Command has launched an official investigation after a viral video appeared to show officers in Owerri wearing Vikings confraternity berets and caps, sparking public outrage.

The video, shared by anti-cult advocacy group Naija Confra on Friday, accused several uniformed officers of openly engaging in cult activities, undermining the integrity of the Nigerian Police Force.

The post questioned how such officers could enforce the law against cultists when they allegedly belong to one of Nigeria’s most notorious confraternities.

The Imo Police, in a statement signed by DSP Okoye Henry, ANIPR, confirmed that Commissioner of Police CP Aboki Danjuma has ordered a thorough probe into the incident.
