President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday night at the State House in Abuja received briefing from Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal on the security situation in the state.
This comes days after bandits attacked some travellers heading for the southern part of the country from Sokoto State, leaving about 23 people dead.
Receiving the Governor, the President assured him of full assurance from the security chiefs that the bandits and criminals will be smoked out wherever they might be and brought to justice.
The President vowed that those responsible for the tragic loss of lives will be made to pay for their heinous act.
He prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims who lost their lives.
