The State Vice Chairman (Edo Central) of All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief Francis Inegbeneki, has declared interest in the Chair of the party in Edo State.
He said he would contest the position in the forthcoming state congresses.
Godswill Inegbe’s Hub quoted Inegbeneki, the Uzoya of Esanland, to have confirmed this in a chat with him.
According to Chief Inegbeniki, “For the past weeks and months, I have been under tremendous political pressure to contest for the chairmanship of our great party, APC, in Edo state. It is important to state that this political pressure came from critical stakeholders of the party, who are not satisfied with the docile manner, the party is being run as an opposition party in the state.”
He further said: “I have consulted widely. From my consultations, I found out that the political feelings and concerns of the vast majority of our party’s stakeholders and members is mutual, which is: Edo APC needs to be rejigged and repositioned, in order to adequately discharge its social-political obligations, to the Edo people, as the leading opposition party in the state.
“Our party must provide a vibrant and engaging opposition towards the policies and decisions of the ruling PDP, which must be centered on the general interests, benefits and wellbeing of the Edo people.”
