The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has certified the list of national delegates of Edo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The delegates would be recognised by the party to vote at the party’s May 28, 2022 presidential primary election and special national convention.
The certified list comprises delegates who participated in and emerged from the party’s local government areas congress primary election organised by the mainstream PDP loyal to the national vice chairman, South-south of the party, Chief Dan Orbih and which was monitored by the INEC.

The exercise was to elect a national delegate per local government area council in addition to one physically challenged delegate.
The group loyal to Governor Godwin Obaseki also organised its primary to elect national delegates. The exercise was not monitored by the INEC.
The INEC had said that it would recognise only the outcomes of the exercises monitored by it.
The Orbih-inspired mainstream PDP in Edo State has also secured a series of favourable court judgments to consummate and validate the outcome of its primary elections that produced all its delegates.
