IGP redeploys Jitoboh, makes him acting DIG as new DIGs get portfolios

The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, has redeployed AIG Moses Ambakina Jitoboh, from the  Border Patrol Section.

He has now been made Acting Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in-charge of the Department of Research and Planning.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday and signed by Force Spokesman,  CP Frank Mba.

Jitoboh was not among those listed by the PSC recently when the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved new DIGs.

Jitoboh’s redeployment contained inthe statement announcing the portfolios for the newly-promoted DIGs.

Force Spokesperson, Mba said: “Following the recent promotion of Senior Police Officers by the Police Service Commission, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has ordered the posting/redeployment of five (5) newly promoted Deputy Inspectors General of Police to oversee Departments of the Force, whose former heads retired recently after the completion of their service years.

“The promoted Senior Officers; DIG Usman Alkali Baba, fdc will now head the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID), DIG Ibrahim A. Lamorde, mni – Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), DIG David Oyebanji Folawiyo, mni – Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), DIG Joseph O. Egbunike – Department of Finance and Administration, DIG Dan-Mallam Mohammed, fdc – Department of Training and Development.

“Similarly, AIG Moses Ambakina Jitoboh, mni was redeployed from the Border Patrol Section to Acting DIG in-charge of the Department of Research and Planning.

“The IGP, while congratulating the Officers, who by this promotion and posting, are now members of the Force Management Team, charges them to bring their vast experience and professionalism to bear in their leadership of the Departments to enhance the ongoing reforms and repositioning of the Force.

“The postings/redeployments are with immediate effect.”
