IGP presents N37m to families of deceased police operatives in Nasarawa

The Commissioner of Police, CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba has presented cheques worth thirty six million, nine hundred and twenty three thousand, nine hundred and eighty four naira, forty eight kobo, (36, 923, 984, 48) to eight families of deceased Police operatives who died while in active service.

A statement signed on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ramhan Nansel, said that the Commissioner of Police presented the cheques on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Usman Baba.

The IGP urged the beneficiaries to judiciously use the money to better the lives of the families left behind by the fallen operatives.

The gesture was an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police’s ‘’Family welfare scheme and Group Life Assurance’’ aimed at improving living standards of the families of Police operatives who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The Commissioner of Police who presented the cheques, appreciated the Inspector-General of Police for the gesture and urged the beneficiaries to judiciously use the money to benefit the families left behind.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Amos Appolos, on behalf of the others, appreciated the Inspector General of Police and Commissioner of Police for the gesture and promised to make good use of the money.
