To celebrate the Eidil fitr this year, Commissioner of Police Nasarawa State Command, CP Maiyaki Mohammed Baba deployed five thousand, five hundred Police personnel in strategic positions to cover major towns, Eid praying grounds, junctions, recreational centres and other public places.
Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ramhan Nansel said in a statement that rigorous patrol would also be sustained on the highways for the safety of travellers.
CP Baba congratulated the Muslim ummah in the State for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and wished all faithfuls a blissful Eidil fitr celebration.
He therefore called on the good people of the State to use the period of the celebration for sober reflection and to offer prayers for the peace and stability of the State and the nation at large.
The State Police Command therefore, said that it was committed to providing an enabling environment for a hitch-free celebration.
The statement further read: “Furthermore, undercover operatives have also been deployed to nook and crannies of the State for surveillance and information gathering.
“The State Command also wishes to call on the good people of the State to live in peace with one another irrespective of their ethnic or religious affiliation and report any likely breach of peace in their area to the Police for prompt action.
